New York, New York!

Flew over from Chicago to NYC on Saturday (photo shows approach to La Guardia), our 26th or 27th visit! New York is a magnet and always fascinating. Hate it or love it. For us, the second is true.

This time we are staying at a new place in Harlem's Sugar Hill, a nice brownstone with two two-level apartments, perfectly equipped, nicely furnished, and, ideal for four people, too! So happy to have a little more space and comfort now!

Our main means of transportation now: the subway
Thanks to OHNY (Open House) we got a chance to explore the new rooftop park at Pier 57, with gorgeous views towards Hudson Yards (below) and downtown with Little Island and downtown as well as New Jersey. Even the Statue of Liberty is to be seen from here (photo far below).
New as well: Gansevoort Peninsula with it's "sand beach", adjacent to Little Island and Pier 57.

Tom Otterness from Wichita designed all the funny little bronze sculptures at the 14th St. Subway station.
Next OHNY visit, far out of town this time, in Cypress Hill/Brooklyn: the Brooklyn Seltzer Boys. One of  three remaining Seltzer factories in the U.S.A. and a family operation. Very interesting to see, even bought one of these bottles in the little factory store!

Lunch at Smorgasborg NYC next, now in Prospect Park, Brooklyn: Poutine
