Easy...

 

Since the Denver flight from MUC only departed at 4:10 pm, we had a pleasant, quiet morning with breakfast and last chores to be accomplished in the house. Also, the trip over to the airport went smooth, in only 2.5 hours - with lots of Oktoberfest visitors on the trains -, same for check-in and security. MUC is a great airport in this regard!

 

Our plane, a B-787 Dreamliner was packed to the last seat, I would say: 90 % Americans. Not really comfy, though we were booked on Eco Plus (meaning: a couple of centimeters more legroom). I hate these 3-seat configurations, especially, the center seat! Food ,,, well, have to admit, that we, at least, got "beef" this time, not only "pasta or chicken", which was an improvement!

 

Flying towards Denver as I am writing this, a 10:10 hour flight, directly from MUC. This is our 86th U.S. trip in total. Striving for 100 ! From Denver, we'll drive into the "Wild West", through Colorado, South Dakota to North Dakota. Mostly it's a fully organized "fam trip", with the purpose to do research for articles (and, hopefully, guide book updates). In Denver we'll stay with friends, but, have a "sightseeing program", same for CO and SD. In ND we will be staying on our friends' ranch in Dickinson – looking forward to that! – but also, we will be attending a unique Teddy Roosevelt Conference on the weekend and visiting the new TR Presidential Library. 

 

Arrived in Denver on time, touch down at sunset (photo above). We went through immigration in a jiffy, picked up luggage and rental car and here we are! First thing after arrival: two good IPAs at a nearby brewery, Danico.

 

A bit rainy and dull this morning, after a fitful sleep. Have been in Denver many times before, but it's a city in movement and many new things, exhibitions, neighborhoods and sights are waiting to be explored.
