After the foodie tour we explored some more neighborhoods on the East Side: Hawthorne, Division and Belmont, all known for their variety of shops - many vintage stores -, restaurants, murals and their crazy, colorful scenery.Whereas Hawthorne is easier to explore because of the density of interesting spots, the other neighborhoods are rather spread out.

Lots of walking,,, but needed to experience the character of the neighborhoods. On the way back to downtown by bus, we stopped by again at the point we started in the morning for the foodie tour: at the Portland Night Market in one big warehouse. Really amazing variety of vendors and local produce: gourmet food and jewelry, leather stuff and local spirits, a colorful variety of things, high quality. In addition, food carts outside, where we had a hawaiian meal and speciality donuts for dessert.
Back to the Pearl District, still checked out Keen Shoes - another local producer, similar to Icebreaker and Columbia - and Powell's Books before we walked "home" to the hotel, tired to the bones.
