Bye-bye Vegas!

Monday morning we took the elevator up to the top of the Eiffeltower, but, unfortunately, the sky was cloudy. Good views from there in all directions (see pic from Strip), too, but would rather recommend the High Roller - it's less windy and a longer experience. Then we tried to find a post office, which would have been far away, in downtown, then, we tried to get stamps - after a couple of tries we finally got a stamp book at Walgreens - and, last obstacle: to find a mail drop in the hotel... Not so easy anymore to mail something.

On the way back we strolled through a couple of hotel-casinos, like Harrah's (one of the older casinos, photo from the couple taken there) and the Flamingo (pic) with it's famous zoo/botanical garden with flamingos and other waterfowl. On the way back to the Venetian we met a funny dog - a Rasta dog with his owner (of whom I didn't dare to take a picture), this is Las Vegas!

In the afternoon we took a couple of hours of for a spa treatment/day pass in the huge, fancy "Canyon Ranch Spa" in the Venetian for "rejuvenation" - if still possible at all... Besides individual treatments (I got a great 50 min. massage!), lots of thermal/aqua therapies are being offers, experiential rains, whirlpools, a sauna, a herbal steambath, a climbing wall and a fitness studio plus salon and barbershop. They call it a "European-inspired aqua thermal oasis", for us it was hard not to get lost in the hallways, but it was relaxing and fun.

Spent the evening with packing and getting ready for our flight on Tuesday. Bye-bye Venetian! We have had enough glitz and glimmer and noise the last three days, but fortunately we had such a great hotel and such a large, comfortable room.

Tuesday: Up at 5 am to catch a taxi to the airport (see picture below). Our flight is on time, the connecting flight in Newark delayed, but arrived almost on time in Munich, on Wednesday, 7:30 am. Then it took us about three hours in total from MUC to get home by light rail/train/streetcar, especially since our luggage wasn't really "handy" anymore...
