WTC Site, photos and views

Pretty cool this morning, but the sun was out and skies deep blue all day long! Started with the heart beat of the city: World Trade Center Site. Always find it highly impressive!

From the WTC Site we headed on towards Brookfield Place on the Hudson River and south on the promenade to Battery Park. At Castle Clinton (left photo) long lines had formed to board the Liberty/Ellis Island Ferry. Didn't join the line this time!  We went to Fotografiska instead, another "first visit". Great photographies, but, unfortunately, they only had one exhibition going on currently, about pets - dogs and cats.

Union Place Farmers' Market is always fun, even on Mondays with much fewer vendors than on weekends. Look at all the tomatoes they are still offering! Peter got his Martin's Pretzels, as it is a tradition.

Lunchbreak at the "Pasta Corner" in busy 53rd Street. We had wonderful pasta dishes and - since the owners are French - superb pastry as dessert (pics below).

After lunch we decided to go for a boat ride to Staten Island. The ferry (photo in the center below) is running 24 hours and is free! On Staten Island views from the promenade are gorgeous, so-to-say our favorites! And, the Statue of Liberty is greeting visitors, too!

It's been a busy, interesting day with almost 10 mi. walked, in addition to many miles on trains. Weather was gorgeous, too.
