"The King of the Folksingers".

Boy, what a day yesterday! Too tired and "mentally overwhelmed" to fully report about all of these great guys performing, but, hope the photos will show,,,

Great poetry, exquisit music, and, as one highlight: Ramblin' Jack Elliott, one of the great folk traditions of the U.S.A., Grammy-winner and "troubadour". Born in Brooklyn, he soon ran away, met Woody Guthrie and traveled with him. He influenced a lot of musicians when he was touring in Europe, and, later, in the U.S. Bob Dylan is only one example. He attended almost every NCPG since its founding in 1985 and performed yesterday with Andy Hedges at age 91!!! Room was packed. There is also a new film about him and his career being shown at the festival, which is highly instructive!

We attended an evening show in the cozy G Three Bar Theater as well, with Canadian musician Corb Lund (right), Andy Hedges (Texan poet & musician, center) and Jake Riley (poet from Nebraska):
