Last appointments at the tourism convention this afternoon, tonight will be the closing party. For the rest, busy, but didn't leave the hotel for the 3rd day in a row now. Unfortunately, our hotel is a little out of town and busses only run on the hour and take time. Wish we would have had a chance - like at the last show in 2017 to explore what Reno has to offer -, but time off is on short supply. Tomorrow is called "Adventure Day" and we'll be on an organized tour to Carson City, the Capitol of Nevada all day.
Went bowling yesterday evening with some friends, to find out that my luck in 2017 in the National Bowling Stadium in town had defunct,,, bad results and another half broken thumbnail, like last time! It was big fun and we had pizza and beer.
The conference was a bit smaller than usually, still due to COVID and travel restrictions, around 300 people, 120 buyers (among them a handfull of journalists) and around 180 suppliers (destinations, hotels, etc.) - in the years before, I think, it was up to 500 participants. COVID is still taking its toll, but since Americans are in general more optimistic than Germans, there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel.
Next event will be in Anchorage/Alaska, as announced this morning at breakfast. Not sure, whether we will attend yet, a bit far out of the way, but perhaps can combine the trip with Washington State. Will see, another year to go till then and another big tourism show before: IPW in Orlando in June. Hurrah, in a warm climate!
