Just a couple of impressions from AMERICANA 2021. While people seem to be fervently buying horse-related merchandise and while riding competitions are top notch, the usual hilarious atmosphere around the saloon is missing. The band has to stop playing at 6 or 7 pm and the beergarden closes at 10 pm instead of midnight or even later as in previous years. The saloon isn't even open this year due to COVID regulations, and, we can just keep our fingers crossed that the weather will stay fine and that it won't rain.
Nevertheless, glad that the event is back! Enjoyed some competitions during the day and the finals of the Cow Horse Nations Team Cup in yesterday's evening show. Also, we watched some of the many horse and riding demonstrations and checked out vendors, trainers, associations and ranches.
