Go West!

Start of the Go West Summit in the Convention Center (pic) with the so-called Education Day - including site inspections and lectures. Our view from the large Salt Palace Conference Center:

Later in the afternoon explored some other neighborhoods, like Central City, passing by some fantastic buildings - like the new library and the new and old courthouse, and, finally, found a drugstore in the "outskirts" of SLC. Sunny and warm, 55 deg F, but clouds coming in.

Evening: Opening Reception at the Natural History Museum of Utah, a fantastic museum on the U of U campus, at the footsteps of the mountains in the East of downtown. Busses brought us up from the hotel to the party with lots of different foodstands in the lobby at 6 pm. Architecture as well as exhibitions are worth visiting, Utah's landscapes and cultures, geology and geography, archeology and history, dinosaurs, and much more. The terraces on the top floor offer a spectacular 360° view of the city (pic). Indian dancers were performing for the couple of hundred guests, and, especially attractive was the department of Native American art and culture.
