The West Coast is calling,,,

Out we flew again, for the 3rd time this year already. All the way to the „Edge of the Universe“ as our friend Joe, former owner of a B&B directly on the Oregon Coast, always called it. Last time we’ve been visiting Portland must have been in 2014 - but have been there a couple of times before. This time, we are doing research for a completely new guidebook, a „CityTrip Portland“ and will not only include the city, but also some excursions. The three full days - that’s all, we are having for that, and we will surely be on a tight schedule. Not sure yet, how it’ll work out with exploring neighborhoods, visiting sights, and, especially, taking photos in such a short amount of time. Hopefully, it won’t rain!!!

Had a slow start on this sunny morning (wouldn’t „voluntarily“ have left the garden at this time of the year!). An airport shuttle service (we were the only passengers and it was a limo), picked us up at 7:30 am and we arrived to the airport at 9 am. As usually in MUC, all was relaxed and went fast and without any problems. Plane - a Boeing 777-200 - was only about 1/3 full in Economy Plus (though packed in Economy) and we had some space to spread out.

Arrived early in Chicago, at about 2 pm, and quickly went through immigration and luggage claim and re-check. Unfortunately, we had a looong layover, but decided against an excursion into the city by train (which we would have done without luggage). Warm and nice outside. Walked this busy, huge airport to get some exercise, pic above shows the new connector between terminals.
